The Role

Manages and coordinates large and/or complex projects through all phases of design, permitting and construction. Ensures assigned projects are completed within budgets and schedules while meeting client needs, business objectives and design guidelines. Manages program of projects and project managers within a region to ensure successful completion and coordination of all efforts. Monitors progress, provides financial control and ensures quality of project. Works with Pre-Development Director and CEO to coordinate site plans and layouts consistent with development of plot plans and building types for each lot/community. Receives plans and permitted projects from the Pre-Development Director and CEO. Coordinates development layout activity with construction staff. Manages staff development and performance standards for Construction Department and procurement staff Responsible for cost accounting, budget management and analysis for Construction Department. Manages subcontractor procurement process to achieve the highest quality and performance by subcontractors at the best possible prices Oversees Materials Procurement to ensure quality, cost, warehousing, inventories, maintenance and logistics are appropriately managed Oversees Special Projects Operations to ensure that construction services are performed efficiently and on schedule, and that internal and external communications are managed appropriately. Overall responsibility for managing issues of job site safety, job site security for people and equipment and construction quality Perform other duties as required by business needs and requested by the CEO and COO Negotiate contracts and agreements with federal and state agencies and other organizations and prepares budget for funding and implementation of programs. Evaluate research and studies to help formulate policies. Recommend improvements for programs and services.

Skill Set/Qualification

Minimum of 20+years in Construction Management with increasing levels of responsibility Bachelors of Science in Construction Management Field or Engineering preferred Strong communications skills to work across departments and with various levels of management Proven ability to manage a high-production construction schedule with multiple deadlines, in-house and outside resources and interdepartmental coordination
