•Liaise closely with the Chief Internal Auditor of the Engineering Group on all commercial matters and produce monthly reports by prescribed dates
•Liaise closely with the Project and Commercial teams in obtaining the best commercial and technical deal and address the quality assurance requirements of sub-contracts.
•Undertake re-measurement and review valuations, variation claims, interim and final accounts with the Project teams. Awareness of site activities is fundamental.
•Reconcile materials consumed, amount spent and amount billed vis-a-vis the quantity billed, amount certified and collected
•Check that numbers of resources (labour, plant, and staff) and hours deployed are within budget allowances and review with the Project Managers. Identify areas of waste or loss on resources and report to the Chief Internal Auditor .
•Review site documentation and Project correspondence for commercial issues
•Verify submission of timely notices of default are issued to subcontractors and suppliers in accordance with terms of their Order or Sub-contract.
•Review Purchase requisitions and internal approvals for procurement with regard to the quantity, specifications, scope and comparative quotes
•Re-check measurement sheets and certification of jobs done by sub-contractors
•Regularly visit project sites to review site progress and performance
•Identify areas of commercial risk on the Project as early as possible and review with the Project Manager ways of avoiding that risk.
Qualified Quantity Surveyors with minimum 5 – 15 years experience in post tender quantity survey, progress measurement, billing and claims for large Projects like airports, hotels, hospitals, commercial, residential and industrial. Excellent knowledge of commercial terms and conditional is essential.
